Van Show - NZ!
« on: April 14, 2009, 07:21:36 AM »
Hi Guys

Went to the van show that accompanied the NZ Van Nats this Easter weekend and met up with Garry and Joel there for the first time and thoroughly enjoyed myself. Also met up with some of the older faces from vanning years ago. I arrived about 10:30 intending to take a few photos and be gone in an hour and a half. The next time I looked at my watch it was almost 2pm and I still wasn't finished. Certainly got the old creative juices flowing so I'm back out to the garage shortly.

Anyway the standard was high with the CFs on display which I was pleasantly surprised with so I thought everyone should see some of the fine examples of custom vanning that NZ has to offer. The poor old camera hasn't worked so hard for a very long time.

Thanks guys for a very interesting and enjoyable day.

I didn't get all the van names so I'll do my best with the titles.

First up - Black Van...

Hi Ben

I think they are pretty few and far between now. I know Joel got hold of some fibreglass flares recently but where from I don't know.

It's not something I've delved into too much as I'm trying to do as much in steel as possible.

Anyone know what the dash in Jeff's van is out of?  Some pretty cool looking vans and ideas there.

Correct me if I'm wrong but Jeff's dash looks to have a lot of components from a Commodore Calais with the digital dash although I have no idea which model. I would say that the rest has been cobbled together to make it all fit with great results.
