Hi wendyh and Stuart,

Just got back from a trip north to Rannoch with the grand kid's they had a great time on a very basic woodland site up there and the old Bedford ran well three gallons to sixty miles well loaded, on single track roads.
My old tub is not worth a photo she is not pretty but she goes well for a thirty seven year old Bedford CF.
I am a member of both of the clubs mentioned but I have seen more life in a tinkers vest!

I've been lucky to have Ray work on the van, with me and keep her in good mechanical condition and after 8 yrs of saving up I finally got a professional paint job....

Sorry to hear the UK bedford sites are not active now, I have found some very useful posts on them in the past. A fellow named Phil Bradshaw seems to be some kind of CF Bedford genius, some very good answers to questions and info on part numbers etc.

I'm not much of a Facebook person as well, however I play in bands and got forced to make one as part of a previous band - its actually turned out to be useful, if just for keeping up with the "Bedford vans and parts for sale Australia" Facebook page. There's a lot of great content there if you like CFs. You don't have to share any info if you don't want to, all you need to do is use your Dougiestractor page and "add friend". Your grandkids will show you how to do it  !

Would also love to see pics of your van one day, they've all have long service lives by now so any roughness is part of the character.

BTW your tractor on Facebook looks very tidy indeed! Well done.

Hi to all,

My old Bedford gave me a scare on a short journey on Wednesday when the engine oil pressure dropped and the oil light came on, with a top up I managed to get home.
So it was strip down time to replace the oil seals on the pump pickup and then press in some light grease refit and retime the Ign timing and so far all is well.
Got a two hundred mile round trip this weekend so let's hope all well.

Hi Guys.

Well the old Bedford made the round trip ok 216 miles, just home an hour and a half ago.
I will give it a check over tomorrow once she has cooled down, 22 miles to the gallon not bad of a high top with high mileage under its belt.

Hi to all,

My old Bedford will be going out to Scone Rally on the 9th of September which is a very good place to find spares and sell off any unwanted parts or tools.
This rally is ran by the tractor and engine club at Scone Palace near Perth Scotland, my own old tractor won't make it there this year due to a lack of suitable trailer transport but I might have a better arrangement by next year.
As a member of the tractor and engine club and having started my mechanical time on tractors I do enjoy seeing so many restored tractors at this rally.
