Beddie in Warrane Tassie - Anyone looked at it?
« on: March 13, 2018, 07:28:08 AM »
I was just wondering if anyone had been to look at a Blue CF SWB Camper in Tassie at all (5K) and their opinion. My ridiculous idea is to fly down from Qld, do a Tassie driving holiday, catch the Spirit and drive up the East Coast and home again. If it ends up being a mega-dud I'll probably not be a happy camper (I mean, literally). The guy selling it is called Gus. Any info appreciated! Cheers!

i rang and asked for info when it first went up as it looked alright, supposedly it was almost ready fro rego just needed a few small things. I asked for a few more pics even had a mate in Tassie all lined up to check it out and possibly help get it road ready to drive back but she needed her son to take pic so never heard back.
Good luck it would be good to see it on the road.
Nik

Cracked windscreen, some lights don't work, uncomplianced LPG set up and some bog. So, fly to Tassie with work ahead (deinstall of the LPG, glass and electrics) for 5K or be patient..? The photos are still not here BTW. I think I'll be patient...

Just as a point of interest. If the LPG was fitted to the vehicle prior to 1990 no compliance was required. Now the only way to know that for reasonable certainty is if the tank is dated prior to 1990. But here is the interesting thing, any tank older than 10 years is out of service date and should not be  fitted unless retested, certainly won't pass a Vic RWC. So let's say hypothetically that the tank is only 2 years old, there is no way to know when the system was installed, so I wouldn't touch it. If the vehicle was built before 1990 (and it obviously is) it would be easy to say the system was fitted in 1985 or something and nobody could say different. Replacing/retesting an old tank is a different matter.

For what it is worth.

Good luck, I love my Beddy camper.
