Dynamat
« on: March 20, 2017, 01:30:20 PM »
Hi all.

Cheers in advance.
Hoping someone can let me know where the best place to buy dynamat?
Qty at a reasonable price in bulk.

Enough to do a SWB POPTOP & a LWB JUMBO.
just roofs and sides.
Floors will be ynderlay and carpet.

To cut down road noise.
All new rubbers will be fitted to cut down rattles.

 Cheers marty

I just got mine from fleebay... found the best price was a local guy (cos of freight)... and don't discount putting it under the underlay/carpet as well. difference in noise level is huge!
Workin for the weekend!

well, I've got a cab/chassis, so not relevant... and was about 3 years ago, and prices change........ but it has cut down vibration and I don't get any drumming now... much more comfortable drive. I am about to cover a new engine cover with the stuff... but at the time, I debated if it was worth it - cost is about $65.00 per square metre....and a CF has a LOT of square metres in it!
Workin for the weekend!

I used the cheapo Resomat stuff, half the price of Dynamat, in my Dodge Charger. Did a a pretty good job. About 200 bucks from memory. It is designed to absorb vibration mostly, so it's also a good idea to combine it with bitumen underlay type stuff, or some kind of noise absorbing material in the walls.

Another option is the spray on urethane foam type stuff. I did this to my van, very effective. The van has to be totally stripped, built a pine framework screwed in to the floor so I would have something to attach a marine ply sheet to for flooring. It's sprayed on floor, walls and roof. Extremely effective at cutting out noise.

Only problem is it's sprayed everywhere so do wiring etc beforehand. Also make sure it's not sprayed on too thick because it expands when sprayed on and is a bitch to cut/sand back.
