Id just bypass everything and make your own wiring
That way you can fix it and know your own circuit

Its possibly been suggested but have a look at the indicator fuse.  Make sure you have power going in and out. Fuse may look alright could be a bad contact so if you have no power coming from fuse it ain't going to work.....
Nothing is impossible it just takes a bit longer

I had the same thought, but there is power to the flasher unit.
I rewired mine from scratch, so as Marty suggested, I know what goes where and have had no major issues...
Just don't ask me for a wiring diagram... :) :) :)

Not my initial thought, but my better half suggestion.   Have you checked both of the dash indicator globes, if a globe is blown usually flashes faster,  but possibilty that both dash globes are blown, very unusual but not impossible.  Are we all asuming that the indicators aren't working because no indication from dash.??????????

have you checked the earth at the bulbs?? on guards etc..
