yeah the thermo switch you mention is perfect, once set at the right temperature they work really well in my experience!
No matter what the question is, the answer is always more horsepower!

Would go with this one, works great and no chance of it leaking

ELECTRONIC THERMAL SWITCH - PART No: 0444 (12 VOLT ONLY) (INSTRUCTION SHEET)

Davies, Craig Pty Ltd very own designed Digital Thermatic Fan Switch Kit can be used with our Thermatic Fans, EWP's & competitors Fans. It senses air temperature as it passes through the radiator and has an adjustable temperature range of 40ºC to 110ºC (104ºF to 230ºF). The Temperature Sensor is placed in the radiator fin section as close to the hot coolant inlet as possible so no need to cut hoses.

This switch is operated thermally & also when the air conditioning is in operation.
Simply set the temperature by pressing the set button.
It can run 1 or two fans. The second fan (if applicable) will start 10 seconds after Fan #1 runs.
To convert temperature reading from Centigrade to Fahrenheit, remove the Jumper Pin on the unit next to the LED screen.

Thanks for the replies boys, both options look good. One more option I've looked at going with is the little sensors that screw into the radiator, not sure if anyone has used these? I'll try and find a photo.

I have used a corolla sensor (ae82) and put it into a dedicated adaptor I had made to insert in the bottom radiator hose (with a temp gauge as well). This way, it only turns on the fan when the return water temp is above the sensors temp... in this case it's 92 degrees and only comes on during the hottest days or in heavy traffic. I also have a Toyota Land cruiser radiator. Live Adelaide south if you want to check it out!
Workin for the weekend!

Thanks Rumax. How well does the Land Cruiser radiator fit in? Might have to come and check out your rig!

Got a bit of body work done over the weekend. All rusted out where the side cargo door hinges bolt on. Really bad down the bottom will have to replace a section of the pillar also can not leave it like that! Coming along nicely though. I assume other people have had this problem but where the outer panel wraps around the pillar and is spot welded in place is all rusted out same goes for the rear doors as well. What I have done is trimmed back the the piece that wraps around and just TIG'd the panel straight to the pillar on the corner. Hopefully with a sand and a bit of bog it comes up a million bucks! 1/3

Work on the Beddy has been reasonably slow lately (uni going back, footy season) however still just chipping away at the rust. Also got my dual battery set up nearly sorted. Just waiting on a deep cycle for my auxiliary. Picked up some replacement rear barn doors and they're nearly ready for some primer just finishing up my rear locking system, watch this space
