Bit of work last night. Radiator out and cleaned up, fan off, and twin thermos offered up. Fit pretty snug too just a couple of brackets to make up to mount it and a bit of trimming. 253 will be getting a quick go over as well, new oil + filter, new plugs + leads, points on the distributor and just a general clean and tidy. Holley needs the float level done as well might give that a crack too. I'll try and take some before and after shots

fans sure do fit the radiator well, what are they off ?

I'm really not sure what they're off mate haha. I was at the wreckers looking for thermofans and they just happened to be sitting in the back of a ute waiting for me. Got the tape out and yep pretty smack on! If everything had worked that well I'd be on the road by now

Thermo fans fitted and wired up and installed. About 2mm clearance from the water pump pulley and belt will take a photo tonight! Really TIGHT. Also some new rims i picked up for the rear 14x7's ($50 for both with tyres  ). One of mine had a crack in it and the other will be a spare. Gotta stop working in the dark so i can take some decent photos!

Welllllll had some fun with the beddy over chrissy break! Was driving her back to the farm (about 2 hours) having a bit of trouble keeping her cool so pulled over to let her cool down a bit. Went to start again, nothing, battery is dead alternator has shit itself! No wonder the fans weren't keeping her cool. So called the RAA and he gave me a quick 10 min charge and jump start and had to high-tail it back to town, with no fans as they were sucking the juice from the ignition. Made it back, just haha. So got a new 100 amp alternator on the way to replace the old 55 amp, but am replacing the brushes in the old one so i have a spare. Back on the road soon!

Are you running relays with your fans ?

Hey mate yeah they are run off relays but at the moment the relays are just run off a switch on the dash. Have been looking at thermal relays am thinking I'll go with the type where you just slip the little insert into the radiator hose. Any suggestions/experience would be welcome!
