OK so I got the caliper plate sorted the boys at work machined one face on the plate to ensure the caliper mounts square with the stub after oxy cuttig, they also did a bit more machining on the in-err side of the hub so it doesn't foul on the caliper plate, and so the bedford bearing seal fit's into the Vn hub.

couple of pics here, once I was happy with how much I'd ground off the the stub axle,Thanks again Sammy for the info, I made a pattern of it to grind the same amount off the other side

thats a good comparison, i knew i ground 1-2mm off but didn't really have any way to visually see the before and after!

what harness ae you using to get the buick running.......v6 conversions or your own...

I'm using the complete vn loom out of the donna car, that's why I changed the dash using the vn instruments so it all plugs straight back in, I'm trying to keep cost's down and use what I already have pretty mush all vn ruining gear into the Bedford

Hi Phill,
I used all the vn loom wiring  made it easy for all the switches and instruments to match in, cluster just plugs in.  Had to extend some wires and shorten others but everything works.   Having said that I like and used  the vs dash and cluster as well as the steering column,. Vs also plugs straight in to the same 3 plugs of vn BUT THE WIRING IS DIFFERENT. There are 3 or 4 earth and power wires that are different and the cluster will start to smoke,. 😖  Yes found that out first hand, fortunately not to mutch damage 😀     only have to work out the headlight and wiper wires to get everything working correctly.  The wiper plug fits the beddie wipers and it works on slow/fast/ intermittent.

yes I'm no auto electrician that why I'm using the vn loom it should all just plug back into it's self, I used the vn
steering column, will post some pics soon
