WILD VICTORIAN FIRES
« on: February 09, 2009, 07:20:09 PM »
Unless you have been in a mine shaft in out back Australia, i am sure everyone has heard about the wild fires we have been confronted with. I must say thanks to my vanner friends who aside from my dad are the only people to check to see if i was safe, ( i am only 15 minutes drive from Kilmore) so thanks guys, not even my sisters have bothered to check on me.
For those who know Sway and Janet from Kilmore, they are safe with no damage.
The unfortunate thing about all these fires is that most of us will probably know someone involved or affected by them, i knoe of a mother and her 3 children who have perished and my best mates mother in law lost her house. So sad
Burn those who start fires like this i say

yeh we had a fire down the end of my street.. and our town was practily surrounded in fire.. fires all over the place far out.

well glad to hear your ok james.. yeh i told dad to dig a hole and bury the 8 litrs of silver nitrate i had in the front yard.. he sorted something out so yarram didnt get destroyed by explosion rather than fire lol

yeh its really sad everything that has happened. my prayers are with you all.

Glad you and Janet and Sway are all ok. My sons girlfriend has lost the family home and her sister lost her's as well. Another mates brother lost his home, garage the 2 cars he was doing up and all his tools. I'm sure there will be more people I know affected as we are only 20km's from the fire zone.

If you have friends or relatives in the Kilmore, Whittlesea, Kinglake, Yea areas you can send any items to me and I will try to get them to your friends.

Please donate to the Red Cross or Salvo's appeals if you can afford to.
