Tune twin strombergs?
« on: April 02, 2015, 10:47:28 PM »
Anyone know how to tune twin strombergs?
If so can i get a step by step please?
Also what do people think about twin strombergs vs holley 350
On a 186/192 with xu1 cam, flat tops,  etc
Or what would you recomend better than twin strombergs?

I bought an old Fb ute, love it already

Cheers marty

nice looking ute :) its a bitsa! FB bummer, EK grille and blinkers/bonnet chrome! I personally prefer the look of the EK front :)

I guess the twin strommys are a good period correct option for them, but certainly a 350 holley or weber is going to be easier to live with long term for tuning etc.

I guess it depends what you want, the motor will breath best with triple SU's or triple webers ;) but certainly the holley or weber is going to be the best for maintenance free use.
No matter what the question is, the answer is always more horsepower!

Yeah, looks good with the EK bits, wanted an EK but was hard enough finding the FB.
triple SU,s or webbers wont fit as the firewall protrudes either side,
The back of the motor sits in a slight recess so to speak.
Im thinking 350 holley will be the best option.
Ive got one and manifold but manifolds for blue or black head  :'(

34 ADM WEBER CARBY
« Reply #5 on: April 03, 2015, 06:13:15 PM »
the 34 ADM Weber  will give you good manifold vacuum at low rpm and torque and if your got a big cam it will help stop your engine  camming. the second barrel does not open till about 70% throttle when you  want power. they are very good on fuel too.  most car bone yards still have lots of ford  xe, xf  which the 34 ADM WEBER came out in . E-BAY is a good soure of the carby and rebuild kits and adaptor plates.

That sounds a better option than the holley johnxb351.
Will it fit onto a holley manifold or is there a special one ?
Cheers
