new book on lost Bedford

Hi everyone.
 I am going to do a 3 part book " Lost Bedford " so im asking for you help . PART 1 The wild west BEDFORD'S PART 2 Upper east coast PART 3 lower east coast Tassie and N.Z.
So my question is if you have or have had a Bedford in any shape or form i would like to see some good resolution pic's and story on it.
now the easiest way is either email me or send the info with jpg images to me . both address's at the end of this post .
please note i will need full name and contact number if i need to follow up on what you submit.
The last and probably most important part if you could authorize your submissions  and you will recieve credit in the appropriate  book

Just my 2c worth, wouldn't .png's be better format to send the images in, this way the images can be resized, cropped or whatever without loosing any quality like you would with a .jpg
If you do need to compress them (even for posting on the site here) https://tinypng.com/  is really quick and easy and free

    I like your idea , as l think there is not enough literature apart from manuals etc about Bedfords .
                             I will been to participate . I read a great book last year titled 
                             " IN SEARCH OF THE HOLDEN PIAZZA  " its about 2 guys who fell in love with the
                                Holden Piazza , when they first saw the car as the main prize on the TV show
                                Sale Of The Century . Some years later , they decide to buy a Piazza and drive it
                                around Australia searching for other Piazzas and their owners stories .
                                Sorry dont know how to link a Piazza to this post . But it was good read

I think I can recall a thread either on this forum or the old old buga forum titled something like "how you got your bedford" (might be way off on the title) but vaguely remember folks telling of how they found their vans.

Anyone remember this ^ ?

I remember my first Bedford, I was in my mid teens and was driving home one day and driving past this wrecking yard I saw this baby blue CF Bedford body shell sitting in a clearing on the yard. I did a U turn and went and asked them what they were doing with it. They replied it was going to the crusher, I said, no it's not, it's coming home with me. They looked stunned as it had no running gear, no back doors, no glass, dash etc. We made a deal and next thing it was on a fork hoist on it's way to my place, well my mums place. It was about 1km from wrecker to house but they delivered it on the forkhoist without any damage. The van was pretty good overall. (this was 30 years ago). I set to and customised it. I didn't have a mig welder then, only an arc welder but managed (no idea how) to panel the side windows, steel side skirts and a 5" roof chop with fibre glass front spoiler and flares. Took me a few years to save up for bits, $300 each for the 295/50/15 tyres, got some mag wheels made up for it - 15x10's and 14x8's, fibre glass spoiler and flares but was all in primer with interior mocked up for my 21st birthday. Sadly later that year we had a big flood and van was under water (up to door handles) for a couple of days and I didn't know about drain holes etc back then and all the soot and stuff played havoc on the wood and steel. The damage was to much and sadly the van went to the scrap metal in the sky/ground.
Was a big learning curve, looking back I have no idea how I got away with what I did but as the old saying goes, where there's a will there's a way

Hi Vanpyre,
                  As I was wire brushing back the other day to post office red, I started to think of my vans professional life, how could I trace it to an order for red postie vans all those years ago? My donor van was a newspaper delivery van. Maybe the sliding door model has it's own commercial history?

I was lucky enough to find some "papers" that had been "lost" since my Aust Post truck was (almost) new. Will scan one day and add to the collection.....
It's amazing what people stuff in strange places. These were just about under the cabs roof lining.

Here's an 'Almost Lost Bedford' story:
Back in the day, when I was crazy, I took my poor girlfriend to the Morton National Park gorge for a nice scenic drive in the bush and ended up heading down an embankment towards a cliff. I managed to stop the van on the loose gravel bank, but had no traction to reverse back up the hill. Panic

We had to go forward, towards the ravine until I could turn the van enough to get us out of trouble.
Quite a scary moment, there where more skid marks in the undies than where left in the dirt, I reckon.
