Posting a PDF
« on: November 04, 2014, 12:11:17 PM »
Hi Admin,

Just wondering how do I go about posting a PDF into the coming events section? I have some info in PDF format on a run to post and don't want to convert it to jpg to post it.

Cheers,
Garry.

Hi Garry, not sure myself, but if you want to email it to me I will load it to a webpage on our site, access to this page only, and load a FTP link on here, this will allow them to open, view and print in a PDF window from this page if required.

Hi Bas,

Thanks for the offer and I'll take you up on it if I can't get an answer from Bugga Admin. There must be a way of doing it as PDF's are a common form format. I'll be in touch if it can't be done within this site.

Cheers mate,
Garry

I think a PDF would have to be placed into Downloads in the Main Menu.

Converting into a JPG is easy, just use a free online converter.

can't you just attach the PDF into the post, or do you actually want the pdf to be displayed straight up so it doesn't need to be clicked on to view it ?
No matter what the question is, the answer is always more horsepower!

Think I used this converter with the 8 page '76 Beddie brochure I posted. PDF size limited to 25MB though.

Garry

I think you should be able to just add the PDF int the post the same way you do a picture, size is an issue though I tried adding one and got this message

"Your file is too large. The maximum attachment size allowed is 3000 KB."

* found a smaller PDF - should be attached

Yep that worked
I used to be vague..................Now I'm not so sure

Yes that works, but everyone downloads it to their computer, my way you just view it online and then decide what to do, after looking at it you just close the window and you get directed back to Buga. But both are good,,,,,

Hi Guys,

Thanks for all your help. I have just posted info about the 2015 NZ Van Nationals in the Cruises and Events section. I attached the PDF in the attachments tab under additional options at the bottom of the new topic window and it worked a treat so all good. 800k file size limit but had plenty to spare.

Cheers,
Garry.
