Hi LS120, just noticed that I made a typo in my posting. It was a Ford Fairmont EB wiper motor that I used not an XB.

I based my conversion on an original forum post done by Rouge Trooper a few years back so all credit to him. Here is a link to his original post that included pictures. Hope this helps.

That sounds like an even better option Graham.

The only thing that I couldn't figure out with the Ford one was how to wire it up to get the automatic park feature working.

Did you get this right with the Holden option?

Yes, it works exactly the same as the original Bedi unit, but heaps more grunt and there are easy to get, I did some bench testing first to work out the wiring

I've had the same results with the earlier commodore units, the plug was identical to the Bedford as where the wiring pin outs!

So Sammy, you reckon that you didn't even have to play with the wiring in your instance, the plug on the Holden motor matched the Bedford with no wiring changes required and your wipers automatically return to the parked position when you switch them off ? Are you running a standard Bedford wiper switch too ?

Yikes now you've got me excited. Can you remember which Holden you got your unit from ?

Mine currently stop at the exact position that they were in when I switch them off. Its bloody irritating.

well i have a complete VS commodore wiring loom in my bedford with the steering column and such to suit, i also had a VN and VR wiper motor assembly in the shed.... The VS has a square plug, two rows of pins, so i cut the VR plug off another loom i have, added lugs to plug it into the VS plug and went colour for colour then plugged it into the bedford wiper motor still up under the dash and it all worked...

i don't have the bedford loom anymore to see what its colours are but i can tell you they were in the right order on the VR loom plug and the plug was identical to a bedford plug.

and yes i tap the wiper stalk, it goes up and down and parks at the bottom of the window every time, and even goes intermittantly every 5 seconds or whatever it is, and then the two speeds work as normal for a commodore.

i haven't yet tried to fit the commodore motor to the bedford but from what others have said this is pretty straight forward ....

im happy to provide you more information if you need it just let me know what you want ?
No matter what the question is, the answer is always more horsepower!
