We only had to install the fuel pump that the guy had on the front seat and put in a new battery and some fuel. It started up in under 30 seconds. We drove it home to Australind on a permit!! Definitely needs new tyres, it was a rocky ride home and low beam N/O. Hubby drove home by brail and my tail lights!!  Needs a new radiator and hoses etc and have to sort out some electrical stuff. Brakes are ok, but hubby will do them up. Suspension feels ok, but will replace the springs and shockies as they are old and rusty. He was happy with how it drove home, he actually enjoyed it!  :-\
He has got the gas working so it runs on LPG. Couple of minor oils leaks. Tiny bit of rust and needs a paint job.  Seems to be solid. Hubby is pleased, tho I do wish he would shut up!  ::)
Does anyone know if the bolt patterns for engine mounts and bell housing is the same through all the small block range? It has a 305 Chevy in it, could we drop a 383  stroker straight in it?

Shazbot,

The bellhousing bolt pattern on the Chev blocks is the same through all the V8/V6 engine range.

The engine mount boss on the block (where the mount bolts onto the block) will be the same so if you get a 383 and use the existing engine mounts it will bolt straight up.

Regards

Rhett

PS  Great find, enjoy it. Hubby will enjoy some fun on the beach north of Australind.
