Hey guys, Q. you know that i have a VP donor commodore, well i was going to get a new custom tank made up, tell me, do the VP tanks fit into the beddy, if so, how well, if not is there much work in modifying a VP to fit. I ask because i am not going to rip out my vp if it wont fit, and if someone here has done it.

George, I know the VN and VP motors and auto's are the same, because my reco auto is out of a VP and my motor is a VN, I have the VN tank fitted, well I think it is a VN? and it's a easy fit, so if the VP are the same, should be no problem...........   David (busy) has also just fitted a VN Tank to his Beddie,

Not sure Rogue, it hangs lower than the standard CF below the outside body line?, the van itself runs everything VN, dash power stearing seats etc, so thought they would of used the tank as well, as I'm not sure what a standard CF tank looks like. Ok if it is CF they have done a lot of work then to convert to VN piping / return etc. that might be the reason then that it reads 1/4 out.

Thanks guys, I may consider trying to use my VP tank, depending on condition. How do i work out what size tank i have, is there a marking on the tank ?

Hey busy, had a look at your gallery, that tank actually looks tidy and as if it belongs. As for dimensions, is there a big difference in size ? And the mounting straps, did you use new or beddy ones, did you need to modify the strap mounts. Please tell me that there were no modifications, that the VP bolts straight into position. lol  ;) ;D ;D  Wishfull thinking. Just another Q. looking at some of your pics, did i see an air-con system in your van, or are the hoses around the radiator for something else ?

I used the bedford straps but turned the hooks around on the ends, welded a plate on the inner sill where the hook sits into for strength and just welded a bar between the cross members at the front for the other end to hook/clamp into.
As for the tank, the filler is normally on top so I had it filled and put at the end like the bedford tank.

the custom van has aircon, the standard CF hasn't, could be the heater hoses as they go across the engine and back
