fitting off the rear one pece lift up rear door, coming along nicely, then today left the beddie (dunno why?) and starting mucking around welding and making a camping - tradies trailer, out of two old trailers. One half of camping trailer is big storage boxes other half is racking for canoe and windsurfers, cut an old freezer in half to use as an ice box and fitting the old family bbq into the racks, don't know why I'm bothering really already have a big enough caravan, a 7 x 5 box trailer and a clapped out trailer gunna make into a dinghy and catamaran hauler ... hmmm ... maybe should stay focused on the beddie  :D

Thanks John. I'll type up an update once I've had a good chat to the original owner. Its kinda interesting to know a bit about the van's history. James (the first owner) told me that when he picked up the van at the dealers the two fender badges were missing. He was told that they were out of stock  ???. He was irritated to be driving around in a brand new van with badge holes and kept getting the run around from the dealers. One day he created all hell in the middle of the showroom and they promptly pulled the badges off the showroom floor van just to keep him quiet.

G'day

It's just after midnight and I just got home from adopting the Tool Kings Blue CF. There is nothing quiet like traveling country roads at speed by full moonlight in a CF.
The problem I have is that most of my stories end with... and that is why I am not allowed to go back there!

Brought a windowless LWB yesterday. Huge thanks to Busy who checked it out for me and saved me half a days traveling just to view. Proud owner of 3! Havent told the missus yet. Shes pretty good at sensing when Im up to Beddy mischief cause I apparently start acting different. Might mention it sometime xmas day when surprises and gifts are supposed to be. My collection is nearly complete...

Hey atk1,

Well done on scoring that van. Had a look at it myself on Sunday and thought it was a good buy. Not much rust and what was there was easily fixed. Looked just like mine when I first bought it. Great with no windows, leaves plenty of options. I just couldn't see myself with another project at the moment, especially when I need to get Genesis finished off first. Now that you have three you better get in one of them and front up at the Nationals at Tapu at Easter.  ;D ;D ;D

CU there mate,

Garry.

Hey all, have been out for a while, has been a month of turmoil, but am back again. A month or so back i sacked my sheetmetal guy, just after the wombat hit my cruiser, so the beddy is now parked, and there is no time frame for the unvail. I now need to find a new metal guy to do the last few body bits and paint. A big disappointment, but his attitude was he would turn up when he had time, and custom work takes time, and i agree with the later, but that applies when you hit a design hitch, not when you are to lazy to turn up, so i fired him and he now has missed out on at least another $10,000 to finish his part, so tough. My mechanic has shattered his knee, so at the moment he is out of action, all he had to do was finish the cooling and gearshifter cable, but i will see how he is after xmas, and maybe he can finish, or he said he will sort someone for me. So for now my van has been sitting in the workshop for a couple of months in limbo.
Well things just got better, last wednesday morning i woke up as sick as hell, by lunch time i was almost unconcious, and my wife called an ambulance, and i was rushed to hospital, they worked on me in the driveway for about half an hour b4 heading to the PA. We got to the hospital and had to sit in the ambulance bay for 4hrs till i could get in. Awesome ride in the back of the ambulace, rough as crap, no weight in the back so they bounce all over the place. Wel it turned out i had some sort of viral infection, so i was dehydrated. Anyhow they brought me back so i could eventually go home, so things got better. I was released at 2100hrs, by the time my wife drove me home, WILD RIDE, i remember why i got my licence back after my crash, lol we got home about 2200hrs, electric front gate, and a blackout, so instead of going in and going to bed, i had to sit out on the road in the car, my wife could not overide the front gate, she could'nt fire up the generator, so we could not open the gate, so here i sit, sick as hell, what do you do, you call the fire brigade, they rolled up and fired up the generator, and we had power, and open the gate did. So a big thanks to the ambos, doctors and nurses, and qld fire and rescue, you guys had a busy few days with me. Well we had the blackout go on for another 26hrs, and we were filling the jerry cans over and over, 4hrs per tank of fuel in the generator.
Anyhows, i am slowly getting my strength back, but maybe it's a good thing i am not working on the van for now, maybe a long break from it to get calm again is what i need, find a new crew to finish it sometime next year, and when it gets done its done. First thing after xmas i need to sort the insurance on my damaged cruiser, hows this, they are talking about $4000 to fix it, why ? because they dont fix panels in this day and age, they toss them and throw a new panel on, its cheaper and quicker, surprise surprise. lol. I also have a rude shock for the next scumbag that trys to blame the guy in the wheelchair, and then takes off, i am now the proud owner of a drive - cam system, its a hard-drive recorder with 4 cameras, facing forward rear, and anywhere else you want, so the next time someone hits me, i will have their plates and the whole incident on tape, i can play it back right then and there for the cops, so good luck blaming me next time shit heads. lol  ;D ;D ;D

george.

So hope all on here have a safe xmas, and see you all back in one piece nex year, for more beddy blood and sweat and tears.
