Well the bedford Alien8 has been in the garage for a while, interior has been removed and the VN V6 4 speed auto doner has also found its place in the garage. This week finally got the motor going again ( faulty fuel pump) and all the rewired VS instruments are working. Now work on the transplant will continue finally.

I've been working in a panel shop this week, butchering a couple of Audis. I must have drilled out a couple of hundred spot welds over the last 2 days..
I also spent the afternoon flattening out my power window runners, and making up the brackets to hold the windows. Everything is basically done, just needs a coat of paint and then I can mount the window mechanisms. If I finish early enough tomorro I'll look into fitting them up.
I would have taken a bucketload of photos for you all, but my phone is on the brink so it is taking and making calls but thats about it..
I also fixed my horn button yesterday, its nice to be able to indicate without the horn going again..
I also miraculously had my temperature controlled fan actuator start working again, so i've been adjusting that almost every trip to find the sweet spot of operation..
I bought some 11mm plug wires, and some ZB tail lights(cheers hotrod) all for less than $80

MaTTe are you using a spotweld drill bit? They only go through one layer of metal very quickly and make life real easy

hey Julian, long time no hear, glad to see alien8 moving ahead. As for mine we are doing great, the 4 wheel disc brakes you and phil were working on are finished, power steering was finished this week, and the v6 and turbo700 gearbox is in,  and body works moving along, though is taking longer then i would like, but just me being impatient now, really want to get it on the road next year. Can't wait to start driving it again. Are you and kathy keeping the green and black paint, or are you giving it all a complete going over. Look forward to seeing the pics mate. I have pics in my gallery of the brakes if you want to see how we did them.

petrolhead, yeah I've been thru 3 spot weld drill bits, they do make life semi easy.. but audis use a sikaflex type product between the surfaces aswell as the spot welds, so seperating the surfaces is far from easy.. some areas you just cant get to.. it's all pretty much ready for re assembly tho

I haven't tried the air chisel, but if a small cold chisel wont fit, i doubt an air chisel would.. ;)

Hey guys, well we have now finished the power steering, got my rack back yesterday, brand new tierods and tierod ends. We still need to do a bit of trimming of the floor where it goes through, so that and the engine hole will get a final trim tommorrow. So we are now sorting the radiator and air-con components, so we should have an idea of how we are doing that in the next couple of weeks. At this point i am targeting for mid next year to be finished, xmas is a spanner in the works, fly in the ointment,  ;)  ;D but that is the time frame.
