Ummm lets see what have i been up to this week, well I picked up the van, bought it home to my mum's place where we have been staying the week while in Auckland.
"shes 80 and just got out of hospital" so we have been looking after her.
So while ive been here I cleaned the van out, checked out all the rust and worked out a bit of a plan, fitted a new tempreture gauge so i know what the engines up to as its first trip is 4 hours to home turf.
I also repaired the dip switch, so i have some low beam head lamps working now.

Then I removed and rebuilt the ignition switch as it was a bit touchy, then i flushed the heater core and re-plumbed the heater so it works, I dont do cold.

After that, i got some steel angle brackets from the hardware shop and screwed them to the floor, then i screwed the rear and side cargo door frame to the brackets to keep the body from moving and to stop the doors flying open  :o :o :D

The rust is right through at these points and the frames were floating.
The door line up and shut nicely now, so il keep these in place while i cut out the rust and tack in some steel, if i worl may way around the frame i can remove the brakets as i go.

I also had to use some of these to secure the front of the drivers seat as the floor has gone in front of it and the seat was falling over backward, which makes for some interesting driving.

I went to Pick A Part and sussed out some power steering racks "no luck" back to transit units, but i did get some ideas for door handles.

So thats where im up to so far, oh I bought a new Royobi 180mm grinder/polisher as well, so i got my tool man "fix" for the week.

Cheers
Rusty

Had the van down with a mate who works for a company called Kea Campers. Been building the interior in the rear... Coming along nicely. See gallery.

Also installed the air horns... And they are exactly like I imagined them, ridiculously loud! A buddy who lives about 700m down the road can hear them!!! Reckons it sounds like a distant train!

Oh it's the little Bedford that could TOOT TOOT  :D

Just imagine the fright the person sat at the lights when they've turned green is going to get.

We might even be able to hear it over here in OZ  :o

Me - this week I helped Eddy put a motor in the camper, parted with some cash, and now that babies mine  ;D

Taking thursday off to do the last bits & pieces to get it running, then take it home and play with it.

Woohoo I'm excited
