i noitced the grilll is blocked over is that to get it warm enuff, we have the problem off keeping ours cold
The grill was blocked because cold headwind has frozen me completely. :-) Because the heater in the cabin was not working through the all time of our trip.

I  think your back axle must be out of a heavy truck. I have never seen one so low to the road.
Funny old life.

Jeff, I will try to make some photos later today with reason to find some marks on axle which can says about axle type, manufacturer, etc.

Great looking van Abodator!
I have a bit of an obsession with LWBs.. It look suprisingly low in rust considering the climate it is up against. hell my van HAD more rust than that..

Good work on braving the conditions that no one else could handle.. ahahah

And don't worry about the dumb questions, everyone has to ask them at some point..

Thanks MaTTe. :-)

But in reality ... it looks good on photos only. Sad but true. I'll show pictures later, and not today.

First, I want to find all information about all the details on my van. I mean, what I want to find all the technical parameters of my van, inc. engine (all parts and systems), gearbox, rear axle, etc. etc.

I'm just doing the identification of different parts of my van at the moment. Because the previous owner added a lot of parts from other ex-soviet cars, and some parts and components absent at all.

This morning I photographed all of the bottom of my van. Photos will try to post later today or tomorrow. I already had some questions after I took pictures.

I found small present from the previous owner in thermostat housing. 8-/

Today has bought new spare parts (thermostate, hoses, radiator cap, etc.).
Tomorrow I will make a complete check and rebuild of cooling system.

Re: What have you been up to this week six months
moved into new house
finally got the net on no thanks to the telcos
started landscaping
mowed and mowed and mowed (next time someone says "your living the dream" I'll give them the friggin dream!)
sorted the shed
and now that holidays are over started on the van
broke my first grinder before I started (trigger)  and got 2 drills really hot
new grinder and wahoo (not sure me having a grinder with cutoff wheels is a good thing!)
even pioneered a new temporary patch holding technique (hot glue gun) worked great, now i can take glued together patch to work and weld up (note to self-----buy mig)
Was able to work on van this weekend as it has been raining but next week back to mowing, I figure 1-2 hours each night when not at gym and I will have a little time on the weekends for the van!

If you like it do it, If you like it a lot do it a lot!
