well i had an interesting day yesterday. drove back from daylesford (couldnt find your number olly sorry would have loved to have caught up)

on the way back to melb hit a pot hole about a foot deep!!! bent a rim, had to flag someone down because i didnt have  my jack with me:( all sweet, back on the road

then driving around melb, went to maccas on the way out a hit the curbe very very slightly, then kabang, snapped my lower wishbone.. hmmmm i said to julz my friend, that is not supposed to happen. rang my good friend eddy, yo eddy my wishbone snapped about 10 mins from your house you busy? rang my good friend warren then, hey warren snapped my wishbone what you up to? so we had a little working bee on my van, got a new wishbone from warren thanks heaps again warren, and put it on, 4 hours later i went and picked julz up from eddys lovely wifes place, and headed home.

wow the steering is now 100% lighter. not excatly sure why but it was the side this van has had an accident on so that must have been the reason for the break. im now going to change the upper wishbone as well and check everything in that front end for any other fractures!

warren has got pics, no doubt he will put some up at some stage. if he doesnt i have the could have been my flippen life deadly wishbone. thank god someones looking after me!! had have been going 100clicks and all hell would have broken loose!! by the way i hit the big pot hole earlyer in the day with the left front wheel, and the wishbone broke on the right hand side so it wasnt related.

thanks again heaps and heaps to warren and eddy.. and rob for looking after my friend julz hehe

cheers
ben

tidyed up all the wiring....got everything working, fitted a new indicator stalk assembly [thats a load off] fitted a new horn....did some more body prep....have had to slow down due to work committements.....going to take some time off soon and get the new tray built with the new Lincoln MIG welder....yyyyyeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.....Ben has sent the new fibro bonnet and spoiler / flare kit today [to go on after rego] it's coming to together slowly.....not much to do prior to prime and paint [again just a quickie white coat for rego] it's good to be playing with a beddie again.....and i will go with your suggestions on the wood tray top and emballish it with alloy checker plate wheel arches and tool box instead :)

Mezzmo's rant!

What the f%$k is with trades people today - or service in general? i am so friggin pissed right now that i could seriously belt someone! Before i left for overseas i made sure all my ducks were in a row - i was supposed to pick up the van today I even rang the prick from LA earlier this week to confirm and he guaranteed i could pick it up today - in fact he swore by it!! No drama's he said, she looks great he said, be all done and raring to go he said - and, the pricks not there and will not answer his phone S.O.B. Then i rang the chrome platers who i left stuff with 5 weeks ago which was going to be ready in 3 weeks, told them i was away then but would pick up on Friday 30th - no worries they say, it'll be here waiting for you, in fact he said it was great that had extra time coz it took the pressure off!!! guess what - NOT F$%^KEN STARTED!!! and then yes there's more - i booked my 54 vette in to have the Dyno done 5 weeks ago - Great he says, bring it in just before you leave (3 weeks ago) i've got a clean slate and i'll get it all done while your'e away - guess what "NOT F%^CKEN DONE! i tell ya, i am a beez dick away from setting up a WANKER WEBSITE for pricks like this that have no conception of the consequences of their Bullshit - i had a truck booked today to pick up the Vette and the Van - more money down the drain - Sorry for ramble fellow bedowins but this shit has just got to stop - we all need to spread the word that these wankers are nothing but bullshit artists with a trade! maybe we could set up a beware section on the site to help athoer people getting caught, by the same token - we could also put up a site of people we would recommend - what do you think???

Anyway, the saving grace was that i could check in on the site while i was away and get my beddie fix - thanks for keeping me sane!!!

bugger mezzmo, was looking foward to seeing pics of your van on here soon. sounds like automotive trades people are just as usless over there as they are here in NZ. Oh well chin up and keep on at them seems to be the only way to get them to work.

Cheers Jeff

Yep, that's one my laws: The chances of someone f**king it up for you is directly proportional to much you are looking forward to it.

Another of my favourites is if someone else is involved you can be guaranteed they will f**k it up for you.

Both of them appear to be applicable in this case.

Yeah i know what ya mean Mezzmo....I have always considered a handshake on an agreement to be an important thing to honour. And those people that honour that agreement i always hold a high regard for. ;)

yeah i know what u mean 2 mezzmo, ive been down that road 2 many times.
so called tradies are bad enough.
but so called mates have let me down the most.

now days i just rely on myself, and dont even bother asking for any kinda help, dont get disapointed that way.

2 many times ive put in 150% effort for friends and received 50% in return.
sad but true.
