For those that have been watching with any kind of interest - the beddie wont be painted before i go away 'BUGA' so unfortunately no pictures, sorry. but i do have a concrete guarantee that i can pick it up on October 30 when i get back. heard it all before!!!

Took the little white Vette out for its first run on Sunday - had the choice of the Euroa show and Shine (3 hours drive) or the Cora Lyn car show (1 hours drive) as mR weather man told me we in for beautiful conditions, i went the 3 hour option - and told the wife to leave her jacket at home coz the weather guy said fine sunny and 20 degree's.

20 minutes out, both me and the wife were starting to suffer from carbon monoxide poisoning through an unfindable exhaust leak - but i thought hey, another 20 minutes and we'll take the windows out (removables not wind downs) coz it wont be so cold and we'll be sweet - 20 minutes later we getl really light drizzle, we're feeling worse and i'm thinkin any minute now that it'll clear up and out come the windows!! WRONG

Starts pissin down like a monsoon - the wind is pushing water through every opening in the roof line and we're talking a 1954 convertible here folks - so there was a lot of openings!! Too late to turn back - keep going i think - water on the carpet, heater on and walah - foggy windows.

So now we have to hold the little vent windows open to try to demist, which are not big enough to expel the fumes but are plenty big enough to let in more rain! 3 hours later and we're in Euroa, very tired, very wet and very sick!! Couldn't enjoy the show knowing we had the 3 hour drive back so basically i dragged my sorry arse around looking at what was there but not really appreciating it for what it was. At least it had stopped raining.

A repeat performance for the wonderful trip home although i must say we had no demisting problems as the heat from the wifes subdued anger worked somewhat like a radiator. Arrived home a 4.45 - whopping headache and feeling like absolute shit - then a phone call, good mate of mine who owns a 54 Dodge Skylark convertible asking why i wasn't at the Cora Lyn show, weather was perfect - heaps of cars (well over 1000 apparantly) and a great day had by all, he couldnt understand why i didnt go - thanked him for his call, mentioned Euroa, Rain, fumes and unhappy spouse and gratuitously hung up the phone.

There really are some days where it's best just to stay in bed! So how was your day??

I'm heading off to Ireland and the U.S.A. on friday and will be back October 30th - i'll keep my eyes out for pommie beddies and hope to get some pics. Catch you guys and gals when i get back.

cao'

Your getting as good as Eddy with your wimsicle yarns.

When I had my 64 Signet I always carried a warm set of clothes in the boot just in case, then again being an old bikie I dont mind getting cold and wet :D

haha mezzmo you crack me up!
well i went to sydney for a music festival weekend just been, brought a few friends, coned them into riding in the beddy with me, one of them brought ear plugs, the other wished they did lol, and every 5 mins they said hey ben whats that smell? but there ears seemed to get used to the droning of the the v8 chevy.

what they didnt get used to was me dropping off parts and trailers and picking up jukeboxes and other stuff all the way to sydney and back lol..

but we got back no worries, and the beddy was good for me, no break downs!!
