Hi Ben

The leather is stamped with leather tools. quite a long process. neighbours love it.... bang, bang, bang.
Its quite easy, transfer a picture onto the tooling leather, cut the lines with a special knife, start stamping, leaving some bits up, some down and using different tools to get different effects.

Ever have one of those days where you broke as much as you fixed?

I made up a mounting for the clock in the dash and while I was fitting it the clock slipped out of my hands and hit the concrete floor. Bye bye LCD. All the liquid crystal has pooled in the bottom of the display.

The drill bit wandered a bit while I was drilling one of the holes for the mounting bracket so I tilted the drill on an angle to move the hole I was drilling back to where it should be which was quite successful until I smelt burning plastic. The drill chuck was resting up against the side of the plastic surround that sits around the instrument panel and it has gouged a nice big chunk out of that.

So the downside of yesterday is that I now need a new clock and a new dash surround. The upside is that I have invented all new swear words.

well I would say that your dramas are far less than I am having with the snakey left in the sewer, and I reckon that the swear words I made up are nearly as good as the ones you did ;D Today I put on an emergency services display at the Doveton Show in Melbourne, drove a big rig to where they asked me to display and got bogged, so had to be dragged out by a suped up 4 x 4. rather embarrassing given that I'm supposed to be the one rescuing people  :D long day being asked simple qs like "can I have my photo taken with you?" and "can I put your hat on?" and "how fast does the car go and can I turn on the siren?" real test of patience after 8 hours straight but still a good if tyring day at work   :P
ekm ...... never lead with your chin, let others lead with theirs

second job was to make a roof and centre console for the cab, took a bit longer than the alarm!
