I bought a celica box off ben a while back...best thing i did for driveability of my van

BUT where the speedo drive sits......... a SLOW dribble a and leak of OIL has coated the underside of my van

Had a new  speedo cable made up...Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrggh still leaking

Went to the wreckers and hunted around for a 2nd hand speedo drive..... $10

and Yay!!! no more leaks

Well I almost got the Camper sorted, but got caught in the rain and ran out of time.

Big thanks to Eddy for his help, no one holds a torch like you do buddy :D

Seems that when you fit H4 headlight inserts, the parker light fittings contact the headlight rim - thus blowing fuses. I will have to work around it somehow.

So close to being all together and running, I  can't wait.

Oh and the other Beddys gear box started making expensive noises on the trips to and from Eddys - I think he's jealous he's not getting all the attention.

Hey Mezz

All the beddys  i have owned have had 2 plates on the bottom of the shockie mount

they clamp together..to hold the bottom of the shockie and stop it moving around in the bottom control arm ...

plates sit in the control arm( big hole @ bottom)

-the shockies had a nut n tread at both top n bottom

yours look like rear shocks on front ....ie a round hole for mounting....  not a bolt type thread

anyone else notice??  ???

I got the new shocks from Pedders and they bolted straight in! that's why i'm a bit confused. No matter, they do the job i suppose.

That makes me a bit nervous as the plate that most people have spreads the load of the shock evenly around the bottom wishbone. Mounting them like they are in Mezzmo's places all that strain on 2 points. Maybe it's ok with high tensile bolts. I know the bolts that hold the original plate in place are absolute rubbish and have had to replace 2 of mine.
