Lets just say me and Ben both had problems with Ford and Holden this weekend.  But it was so worth it.  Snowboarding is mad!!!!

we got video footage of all the things that went wrong! but i dont htink we got any footage of snowboarding lol..

we split a radiator hose 10 mins from the car park.. hitched a ride there.. rang racv. they said ring when your 30 mins from there in the afternoon..

we did that then they made us pay flippen $260 to sign up. then told us they didnt have a hose anyway.
we were stuck on the side of the road waiting for the racv for like 2 hours.. so we lit a camp fire.. the cops came and told us were not allowed camp fires.. but were nice to us cause we were freezing and it was dark by then..

racv towed us to mansfeild.. we got out of car and ran toward the bp there but half way there they turned the lights out! it had just closed!!! luck was not good.. so we ordered some pizza.. that was good!

rang mates got them to bring a car trailer from 3 hours away! i got back to 2 hours from my house at 3.40am! then had 2 hours sleep and got home at 9am in the morning.. big day.

ill see if we can upload the video footage of all the things that went wrong lol

cheers

Yeah my mates thought you were cool too, probably when you first met us we were just stressing a bit a bout the gas situation.  Thanks for letting me know about the cheap lift tickets.  Man I had to take the day off work today because i'm so sore, worth it though.  I'm going to get into training for next time

Thought i would give you an update of where i am with my troublesome tailshaft. Took it to a company here in perth called "Hardie Spicer" they make all uni ,c.v joints and centre bearings and shafts for cars, trucks, and mining equipment. I talked to a fellow there by the name of Richard, who could not of been more helpful! ;D. After much measuring and discussion it was decided that we could modify a VL holden tailshaft to suit. I said that i would scour the wreckers for one and go from there, thats when he informed me that i would expect to pay up to $400.00 for a second hand one! :o. Then he remembered that he had a customer who had brought one in to be serviced but had decided to have a custom heavy duty one made up from scratch so, one phone call later had managed to source the one the customer couldnt use for $150.00 for me  ;D. I will be picking that up this weekend and will then have to wait till i can save my pennies to have the shaft modified. The commodore shaft will have to be lengthened and then the appropriate input shaft will have to be grafted on as with the diff end as well :). Price will be around $550.00-$600.00.That includes all new uni's ,cv joints ,centre bearing and balance . :) so there ya go....cheers.....johnno ;D

G'day

What is so special about a VL one?

Just curious as VK and VN sedans can be bought for next to nothing.
The problem I have is that most of my stories end with... and that is why I am not allowed to go back there!

The tailshaft that i will get, came out of a turbo vl. Whether just because its a turbo the wreckers think that its a  "performance" part maybe?. But the advantage of the vl is the diameter of the tube and the size of the uni joints that will be the best fit for the modification. :D

Well it's 7.25am & we have just had 4hours sleep after getting a call from the police about a car doing drifting has gone through the front of the shop windows..  :'( .

lucky the car came off second best.. & the police followed the trail of coolent leek to his house & he has fessed up to being the driver.. now i have to shut the shop for at least half the day to clean up all the glass that gone through everything.. some days you just wonder why you bother...  :-\

god knows when they are comming to replace the window.. as waited for them to come board up the hole left by the car.

he was also a disqulafied  driver too...  ???  >:(

well at least no one else was hurt..

keep safe guys.
