Well i felt the desire to do some kind of update:)

Things have gone from bad to worse......In that i no longer have a welder/fabricator ("apparantly" he is sick and cant do the job he started) to add to that, the reports i have had are that what he did has only ruined the van anyhow.....using checker steel (something like that) and ofcourse he cut the arches out so i cant even just throw some fibreglass flares on..

After the whole Hammers debarcle, now this........i must say i feel pretty beat up, and i doubt i will trust too many people from this point on:(

BUT...ive been going to church alot lately, and im gaining strength spiritualy and for the first time in 15yrs a real kick in the guts like this hasnt got me suicidal (trust me, 5yrs ago it would have)...

Maybe this was always meant to happen, im a christian first and formost, and its fair to say i had been giving this van more love/ attention than i had to God......and that is not what i desire in my heart, so now...its my project van, i have plans to re-save and buy a run about, and hoooopefully get myself some welding and fabrication training to do the job myself, as the lesson i learnt is...."Only I can make my dreams come true....NOT other people". And to be fair, its lifted a huge burden from my shoulders....nothing keeps you down like failure to meet your goals and betrayal of people you trust:(

So now i hope to one day (as soon as possible maybe a year..or 2 or 3 or 4) to show the van I MADE/ CREATED.

 ;D

kirk as the saying goes never trust a tradesman ha ha... nah some are good lol.. but everything happens for a purpose i recon:)

if you have time you can come down here and spend a day or something mucking around with my mig and ill show you everything i know about welding that ive picked up from spending time with welding blokes..

or if you jump on a welding site or somehow get in connection with people in your area, you might find a bloke in your area that you can go spend some time with to show you some stuff:)

also youtube is your best friend.. so much professional help on there its awesome!!!!

Hey Ben... Jilybean. We'll be over that way between the Thursday 22nd and back to Perth on the Thursday 29th. Will be traveling around Vic a little while we're there (going back to my old haunt for a few days) Albury / Wodonga and Seymour... (I have family there)...

So will need organize a time suitable for both of us to catch up....

Let us know what you are doing during that time..

Hey kirk, look at it this way mate, your working with steel, its just as easy to put back as it is to remove, go back a few pages, and have a look at the class 1 cock up we made of the tail light, i look at it everytime i go to the workshop and it makes me feel like a twit for allowing it to happen, i wasted a full day, but we will just fill it back in and make it stronger then ever. It was no-ones fault, i was calling the shots and it did not work, now i have to regroup and solve the problem.

As for your arches, now you have the chance of creating some really cool flares, as for your trady where possible supervise what they are doing, i am glued to my guy and if i dont like something then i say so. In my case, i dont know about you, but i did my apprenticeship as a fitter and welder, worked in muffler shops, and when it comes to design i know what i like and how a line should flow, so im lucky i am in sync with my sheetmetal guy, so maybe find someone and hover over them, at the end of the day its your van, your money and you have to be happy with the finished van everytime you look at it. It took me 2 and half years to find the mechanic and sheetmetal guys that i have, but the wait was worth it, we all work well together, i'm getting what i want and they are making money. Trust me kirk when i tell you it will happen, i have the feeling when things go wrong  like the light, that it will never be done, but i know i will get there, i have to, there are a lot of beddy lovers here that want to see what i am creating, and i dont want to disappoint, so thats just one more reason to forge on. If need be take a break, and when you least expect it, the right tradys will just show up, just make sure they have the same passion for your van that you do. Good luck.
