interesting about the gasket, I've been racing with a turbo 202 for a few years now and I have never had an issue with the intake/exhaust gaskets failing! .... but mine is a blue motor so maybe they are different, I use the metal faced gasket on the inlet/exhaust and its worked fine! wish I could say the same for head gaskets!

but I definitely have to agree of the performance gains from a turbo :)
No matter what the question is, the answer is always more horsepower!

I've put it down to having higher exhaust temps due to LPG . On my beddy after 1000 kays the composite manifold  gaskets end up turning into carbon around the exhaust ports. The head gets so hot that it has burnt the paint above the exhaust ports right off!

Have never had an issue with head gaskets though, 10 psi is fairly modest boost.

Ok the extended sump was painted and ready to go in as well as the extended oil pick up.

Ray went to fit the sump and it hit the cross member @$!&%$! was what came out of the shed when i dared to venture up there to see how he was going...why oh why didnt i just keep it standard was his grumbling and complaining...everything is a bloody stuff around and never straight forward on a beddy.  :(
...so the steering had to be dropped  to give access and a thin slither had to be taken away from the crossmember to get the sump in. And also had to jack the motor right up to the floor to give room to get the sump in too.

And to answer all your questions ...it took  9 litres of oil to fill up the  extended sump  :D

we also fitted a standard JP oil pump and took her for a test run.....wow no oil leaks!

looking forward to doing the wollongong van run next weekend!

     That is one beautiful sump , wouldnt look out of place in an art gallery.

yeah nice work! but I don't understand why you had to lower the steering ? or was that just to get it in ? I thought the only part of that modified was the rear ?

Thanx Frank & Rotti ...yep Ray is pretty handy with a welder!  :D
the curved bit came from a fellow who marinanises engines for boats and he makes new sumps with that style to suit the bottom of the hulls.
I do hope the rest of the fit goes more smoothly.  ;D

Ray put the turbo, manifolds and all the pipes on the 202 today!!

The first vdeo is the inital start up, with no muffler attached yet!

The second video is seeing what boost she is putting out....its noisy as we havent hooked up the muffler and the white smoke it the paint on the new exhaust manifold...the turbo boosting at 6 PSI.
