It's a shame it's all sitting at the wreckers. The trans looks to be in really good nick although that is more than can be said for the rest of the wreck.

Thanks for the photos and info guys.

westy12, does your trans cross member mount have accessory holes or is it just the one set?
That orange or red wire going to the trans, is that the inhibitor switch?

Bas NZ, your trans cross member mount looks the same as westy12's.
When you say 20.5cm, is that point to point or overall length? I don't suppose you have the length of the trans rod arm thing, it seems I have a holden arm which is curved and not stepped out like these ones so will have to try make one
There are so many people out there who will tell you that you can't. What you've got to do is turn around and say "watch me"

you should grab it, there is a short supply of tri matics out there, took me ages to find my one, i did bit of a deal on it but it still cost me $350.

I actually sold my old one for $50 about 6 months ago. No-one was interested. The guy who bought it was just going to break it down for parts and scrap.

Hi Busy yes overall length is 20.5cm (eg from arm to arm centre hole). Will measure both arm lengths when I get home from work tomorrow, the van was brought in from OZ as cab and chassie new with 202 and trimatic, but with the right length of arms and linkage rod you will be able to get the right set up real easy.

Hi Guys,

Sorry to hijack your thread Busy but it looks like a bit of a Kiwi thing going here so just thought I'd mention Kumeu.
If any of you are looking at going to the Kumeu Rod Show this weekend were looking at having hopefully 10 or so vans there the whole weekend under the VANZ banner. We're setting up a bit of a display and promo so come and have a chat.

Cheers,
Garry.

I'll see you there on saturday Garry, sadly without either of my vans - wasn't able to get screen done for custom one or able to get drive shaft done for this standard one.

Ok Busy, trans rod arm is 5.5cm this is from hole to hole as this is the pivot point, this is the distance that matters, shifter arm is 110cm this is from the base of the shifter to the hole (pivot pont at bottom of arm) and as I said rod linkage is 20.5cm from pivot point to povit point (holes) the linkage rod has a ajustment thread of 5cm on the end, my linkage is set to the middle of this thread. Hope this helps  :)

Thats awesome, thank you so much. I'm off to make the lower arm and I should be sweet.
Then I can sit in it, make broom broom noises and change gear while I wait for my driveshaft

Cool stuff. Hope the shifter linkage works out OK. Shame the other bits didn't come together in time. Never mind, good things take time. Wish I had some.

Look forward to catching up on Saturday. Hope the weather isn't too hot or wet. Just nice would be great.

Garry.
