I like the idea of the push thru cap Truck, but I'm guessing they're non-locking? Never had an issue so far, but I wouldnt want folk finding out they can just stick a hose in and cyphon away!!

Nah not locking Al. As mine is a Sunday driver I was not too worried about locking. My set-up is like today's plastic cars with filler behind fuel door which can be fitted with cable release but mine is simple spring loaded unit that can be opened externally. You could also fit an anti siphon spring before installing cap that stops thieves from getting hose into tank.

Cheers
Greg

ahh cool loved your set up... Truck, but for now just need a sealing cap. I have just tried to order one from CPC but advised to go to a retail auto shop.....rang the local and for the first time in history..."yeah bud ...we got one in stock." less than 4KM from the front door.... but the package is a bit dusty....LOL

will let you know..
Can I go play now...?

cheers Truck might take you up on that one, it's close but no cigar    YET.... run out if time today to try and fit properly, it seems a snug fit but the spring locks don't lock over the inside edge, meaning either the there isn't enough depth or the seal (cork ) and spring are still too strong and not allowing to depress enough for the spring locks too go over the inside edge... tried some roadside mods but failed, will have to wait till next week....PHUEY....it should/ will work....just have to compress the inside lip alittle, cost me another $30..00 for a tool to do this job, but hey MAN WITH MOST TOOLS WINS....doesn't he?

I bought both caps , and they both dont fit and lock. :'(

I got Larger outer diameter one first # SL41EC the exterior covers cap area nicely , but the locking body part wouldnt even scrape the sides

Next i went the smaller exterior body # SL17 fits like a glove , but you cannot twist to lock it .

Also on the back of the package their is no mention of Bedford CF on both packets .

I will take some pics in the next few days to show, My van was made in 1970 , the locking tabs on the original cap measure 55mm

Maybe later models changed cap size  ???

Cheers FRank , im in Melbourne so your welcome to come and test if mine fit

Have a look at ebay UK- http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NEW-PETROL-FILLER-CAP-BEDFORD-CF-VAN-/291210608650?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item43cd81400a

This is a chrome "genuine" fuel cap, but the box behind has a part number on it.... may be a lead. or a red herring...  ;)
Workin for the weekend!

Well spotted Hobbit. That is an exact match for the one that I have on my van at the moment. Even my key has the same logo as the one in the picture.
