Hi there, I know it's an old subject but!!! I'm back in the market for new front shocks, years ago I tried all the Monroe gas ect and found that they were lucky to last six months. So i forked out $200 each for Koni gas adjustables, they were awsome but that was over ten years ago now(and I give my van hell,Nthern NSW death roads)). Anyway has anybody found a cheaper brand that they swear by, or should I (even thou I can't afford them) go with what I know. By the way the part number for the Koni's are (80-2119) at $190.00 each shock(autobarn).  :-\

Oh well seems like nobody had any better idea's on the front shocks so I orderd the Koni's $189.oo each. Got a pleasant surprise with the lower control arm bushes from Pedders tho $104.00 the set, (was expecting $150) First time in over 20years I've changes lower control bushes thanx to spare beddy's. New brake discs $50.00 each, Upper ball joints $22.00 each, upper control bushes$40set , $80 on steering rack, $60 for 2 new flex brake lines. And it was only a few weeks ago I was thinkin of giving up on her, then I seen Marky of Mullum's add(beddy bits to go) and he had all i needed to rekindle the passion, so thanx marky( and BUGGA) i can now stop, steer, wind down windows, change gears, demist wind screen and sleep in a dry bed all for three days of burning the crap out myself welding(barter system's are alive and well on the north coast, parts for labour). So now I'v got all the interior and outer body to keep me busy for a long time, maybe another 20 years!. ;)

Just did shock change ,the ones I took out seemed fine, thought I wasted time and money(one monreo gas,one Koni) but the differance now is chalk and cheese. Love them new Koni's. Sorry Worzel I converted to HQ upper ball joints donkeys years ago, samer with upper control arm rubbers. I got the Lower control arm rubbers but they didn't come with the outer steel caseing witch you seem to have to destroy to get the old ones out, so I've put that of till after winter. Well i'm ready for the drive down to Thredbo for the season tomorro,if anyone here goes skiing Thredbo drop in and ask for Dan at the Alpine Hotel Bistro bar.
