wanted - heater parts
« on: April 28, 2014, 02:45:07 PM »
Due to my ever increasing Budget Blow Out on the new Beddie, i have made the decision to not include the aircondtioning at this stage. So this leaves me in a little bit of a dilema, i need some parts for my current heater assembly - i hope you can help - what i need is:

The original Heater tap - i'm not interested in the aftermarket job - don't like the look
The original Heater dash panel - the old style that was mounted into the metal dash vertically, not the later horizontal one.
The 2 cables if by chance you still have them.

Thanks gang, hope someones got some stuff!!

Cheers

Mezz

Mezz, is the heater valve listed on eBay the exact one that you are looking for?

Reason I ask is the one on my CF1 looks different (picture of mine attached below). Problem is the valve uses a rubber ball internally that seems to perish when not in use. My valve was working fine but after a year long rebuild of the van when it sat dry it now leaks. Bas had a good working unit that he kindly gave me that has been in storage for a while and his one did the same. I guess they don't like being left to dry out. I'm looking at some universal units listed on eBay that were used on London Taxis to see if I can get one of these to work. The other alternative is a newer plastic unit from a VW Golf or similar. Would prefer to have the old school look though.

I'll let you know how my investigations go.

Ok yes, sorry about that, I forgot I gave it to you Gordon, sorry it was also no good, I know it worked ok in the van at the time.

Yes Gordon, the one on ebay is exactly like mine, the one in your pic i don't think i have ever seen. I am hoping i may have fixed mine as i have tested the seals etc and they are all fine and still plyable - hopefully it works.

No worries Bas, it was good of you to let me try it.

Mezz, I'm glad to hear it looks like you are all sorted now.
