transfer case?

anyone thought or looked into running a transfer case purely for the use of the 2 speed ratios for stuff.??
any thoughts would be great

transfer case like what you see in 4wd's gives you a high and low ratio..

a 1984 jeep cherokee 208 transfer case bolted onto a turbo400 behind a 350 chev would be the go.
then ud have high n low, that would tow a tank up a mountain.

thing is the transfer case would only reduce down so that IF ever needed the van would
 'pull like a schoolboy'  isn't everyone wanting to go the other way to improve milage on open road!
seems to be a lot of work for an IF

transfer case would be great for launching and retreving huge ass boats (30ft+ at very steep boat ramps,like the 1 At riverheads QLD, oposite to where the ferry pulls in. the southwestern ramp. its as steep as and mud the bottom 4 yards at low tide , the tide is like 10+ft lol, difference at top n bottom on a full moon,

I struggle on that ramp with my 4.55 platey on real low tides.
