rear bearings
« on: December 13, 2013, 12:47:54 PM »
hi all... was heeading off to darwin last week.... after gettin beddy ready... noticed on wed rear wheel on diff driver side was leaking...sigh. so pulled it out ...cracked bearing   double sigh....  went to cbc who sold me a bearing at 187.00 triple sigh...   only to find it has been machined wrong by the chinese ..... the o ring seal is on the same side as the inner  race step out... it may be an update to the bearing  they said.... yeah right i say... that puts the seal less than 2 mil from the end of housing ... finally they agree it is a manufacture fault... .. an they said othey only had six in country all the same prob, were gonna get someone to grind new slot  for seal but have to wait 2 weeks at least ...gotta get headin north i said .. so they are tryin to get a genuine one (at more costto me i might add)... but still not till next week some time... so a desperate long shot and appealing to your collective good natures... does by perchance any one in or near adelaide have a spare rear wheel bearing that i could have an i will replace with the one coming from cbc?????? this my last option as the chances of finding one at wreckers is soooo slim plus dont really wanna use a second hand one if travellin 3000 plus kms.... dont reqally expect any luck on this... but poor ol skip has lost his bounce... an really stuck with this at mo.... cheers anyway guys for listenin... skippy  :'(

Skippy,

There is a guy in Hillcrest wrecking a CF. number from gumtree is 0414946767. No idea what he has or price. add is dated 2/11, so 6 weeks old.
I only have duel wheel diffs... happy to loan whole diff, but crappy ratio's.

Cheers

Russell

g/day skippy,
ive got 2 good second hand ones,
only reason they were taken off the axles was to fit 2 new ones,
as the axles were redrilled n studded to fit HQ/WB . and put into stock in my parts
room as spares for my green poptop.( running redrilled HQ/WB studpattern)
so the 2 bearings were put away in case i bought another van for spares.
your welcome to 1 if u want it. if so just pm me your address details and
i will send it next day delivery post, first thing mon morning.
cheers marty

p.s. i fitted a new o ring to 1 bearing a few mins ago in case u want it.
