Wanted rusty grill - NZ
« on: October 24, 2013, 11:42:45 AM »
Hey guys, am after part or all of a rusty mk1 grill, preferably in Auckland and I can have it in my hands in less than a week.
Sorry I know it's a big ask but am only up here working on my van for 2 weeks and really want to get the front finished.

The bit I mostly need is the safety catch hole and latch hole parts, just the top middle section (max 600mm) but will take complete if you want me to.

NO good grills please as they are getting hard to get - only rusty, bent or a stuffed up modified one need apply.

It would be easier to use some japper latch but want to keep it bedford if I can

Cheers

Hi Busy
if you get into trouble finding one, I have that part of the front you are looking for, but I'm in Oz so timing would be a problem I think, I don't need it due to the VK front has that part already moulded in

cheers
Graham

atk1, I'll be back in Hamilton on the 5th or 6th, but if it's not rusty rusty I'd rather not cut it up, maybe throw it on trademe

to many burnouts huh ;)  can't do axle but might be able to do a front brake drum, it's been sitting outside for a while still attached to the hub, I'll try get it apart today and see what it's like.
It was off my standard van when I did disc brakes, hmm thats about 4 years ago - does that make me a hoarder lol

my van is a 79 ... i have other front drums but there are smaller ...
the axle was a cowboy repair in the past ... someone sleeved the axle and welded it together
or maybe to much power from my 202 ...

so you have the 10inch front drums (they come 9 or 10)

You're just running standard CF diff aren't you (maybe with cresta head for 202) ?

sleeved chev 10 bolt centre ...
came off my jumbo that had the 350 in it ..
plans are to put the chev in and sell the 202 and toyota 5 speed
but now need the axle .. think its just a remachined bedford axle ....
some one sleeved the old axle and criped and welded it to the bedford outa end and chev inside
guess they used what they had at the time ..

Sorry the drum is stuffed, has been outside to long

Am still after a grill, have been offered some good grills but don't want to cut a good one up.
While I'm here .... I'm also after some mint heater vents (MK1) - the bits that come out the dash, they usually crack or deform or get thrown out. Also the heater pipes - all 4 (1 is in 2 bits)

cheers :D
