Front page content
« on: December 18, 2008, 04:37:23 PM »
Hi guys and gals,

We are in need of some new content for the main BUGA web page so we are inviting anyone and everyone to help out.

Does anyone have any ideas about what we should have on there?

I've had a few ideas about things we could have on there but I have never had the time to sit down and write the articles. I'm actually not very good at writing anyway so this puts me off.
Some of the ideas I have had are:

Van of the month.
We could have a small article about a members van and the exciting work they have been doing to it.

Meet and greets.
We could have a quick description of the meet and greets that have been planed.
We could also have an article on past meet and greets with photos etc

I'm pretty sure I had more ideas, but I think think of them at the moment ???

Anyway, would anyone be interested in helping out with this? I'm sure with the amount of talented people on here that we should be able to put together some interesting content.

Thanks

Strez,

One of my favourite features on my Yamaha IT forum is the Google Member Map.

I have members from all over the world but I still can't figure a few things out...

Why are there only a few IT's in Western Australia?

Why are there none in Central America?

It is a wonderful little piece of software...

Cheers

Jock that Google Map looks great. How do you fill in the locations of members?

Well for the lazy buggers I do it for them. Upon registration they must select a country and once I
get the email saying they have registered, if they haven't already done so I ask them where they
are located. I then go into their forum profile and update their location info and out them on the map.

For the organised and a litte more computer savvy they can do it quite easily themselves by going into
their forum profile and changing the info in there.

I usually have to do it as most of my members aren't the best with computers. In saying that they navigate the
forum easily enough and post images without drama.

It is a great tool to have on the forum. I use it all the time.

You can zoom in and make the map a satelite image aswel. You can pin point it down to your actual house - if you want.
