Looking at the forum today and I am truly enraged. Who is administrating this site?

Whoever you are can you please delete all of the non legitimate members and spam from the site!
Come on guys - It's really not that hard!

May I ask why are you letting this go on? Why are you not on top of it?
Why does the site keep getting 'spammed'?

The last thing we want to see on here is kiddy porn
The thought alone disgusts me - let alone having to see the vulgar posts made by non legitimate spammers!

Unfortunately you guys are the only ones with the access to fix this - I urgently request that you put a stop to it.
For the well being of the site and it's members - be responsible and do something about this immediately.
Administrating a Forum and making sure that it is a secure and spam free environment is easy.

Are you serious?? I spend over an hour each day maintaining this site. Not to mention forking out my own money to run/host it.

I have changed the registration system so that I have to approve all new registrations.

Because we are now listed on every search engine there is. Becasue we get over 70000 hits from real people and bots evrey day.

I understand your being upset at all the spamming, but be aware that keeping a site Spam free can be a very arduous task.

Spammers spend all day every day looking for weakness in all sorts of systems, and when they find one the exploit it to the max.

I feel Shane does a great Job, and his efforts normally go unnoticed, it's only when things go wrong that people even think a little bit about whats involved in maintaining a site like this.

Shane, I'm on most days, and if I can be of assistance then let me know, I'm more than willing to help.

I know exactly what is involved in running and maintaining a forum.
That is why I can't see how you are not on top of this one?

Do you know why this particular forum that you setup and administer is
vulnerable to spam attacks?

When I noticed the spam this morning I contacted Shane J to have it deleted. I have also contacted the Australian Federal Police and ACMA to report this.

Some changes are needed to our structure and to who has access to what. With only Shane having admin access it makes it hard to act quickly if something like this happens again. I think all the moderators should have admin access to posts on the forum but not system changes.

Shane is implementing a new registration process, no long off.

I understand people being peed off, this type of stuff is not on.

I agree with Warren, Shane has done a great job with the site. There will always be people looking to exploit any weakness to post their crap. As this is a free site with no paid employees volunteers can do only so much. Both Shane and I have lots of time and money invested in this site, so any ideas you have will be taken on board.

i'm all in favour of making it harder to post ,y'know those fuzzy numbers and stupid questions.
It's a shame but those maggots are very determined people, so i would put up with an extra step before i can post.

Can we have a stage when people are cleared, once there details are confirmed?

I am a member of9 diffrent forums in 3 countries and it dosent matter how diligent u are this happens from time to time.
