I have bought a swb 77 beddie. sliding doors for front and barn doors rear, aparrently an ex postie.
putting a 3.3 efi in it and will post my progress, any info welcome but am doing from wo to go myself including wiring, will do a step by step guide aswell. if i have found the long way around please pull me up coz the info out there hasnt helped so far and i want to be of help, in early stages so far (just built an engine stand)
for running and testing, still building anyway.

hopefully i can help but it really is a once off everytime someone does it unless the previous conversions owner comes over to help.

i had plans to put a 318 polysphere motor in but will stay the six for now. cheers

hey booga, welcome on board, theres a lot of help on the buga site, lotta good people with great tips, I'm doing the same conversion and it would be great to follow you step by step, I can't offer much advice I'm really good at lifting heavy things but a bit lost when it comes to mechanicals other than simple stuff, if you have access to a digital camera to download pics as you go that would be most helpful, maybe we could bounce ideas off each other, look under engines cause I put up a post for this exact purpose, are you in Melbourne?

hey guy's, glad to see that ther is interest in the strait six still, yes i am in melbourne, i will be doing all the work in my w/shop in dandenong.

this is the first time i will have documented anything mods wise so it will have lots of pics and information all the way down to scetches i have done.

what i have little detail on is the engine camshaft timing. i have heard that these cams were retarded from factory to produce satisfactory emissions for that period. what i dont have is hard proof that this is correct and what it should be set to for best performance.

eddy, any info is great info... its good to have another view and simple solutions are usually the best.

anyone cam complicate something, it takes effort to keep it simple!!!

one plus is i do have a car hoist, engine crane, too many tools and now my 1/2 finished engine stand for testing so i may have it easier.

hey ben me and craig are doing the same conversion too on my black beast. 202 black EFI.. on straight gas thou..

craig is the brains for the conversion.. i dont have time ay. have to catch up one day. im in melbourne every weekend.. cheers adn welcome to buga!!

yeah ben i was going to go for strait gas but i bought the whole motor cheap and thought why not.
run her on petrol???

it would be finished by now if i hadn't thought that way. at least there is a few people doing this, we can find the probs and a good way around them. i think over all it shouldnt be tooo difficult but the wiring looks like fun.

hey man you gunna use the digital dash and all? or wire it up to orig bedford stuff?

not sure bout the dash yet, i have the idea of keeping it stock for now but grafting something in from the vk or an nc fairlane, but they are just high hopes at the mo.
