Garry, they were listed on TradeMe by Magwheel Warehouse down Manukau way. I bought 2 NOS caps a while back from a chap down south for $30 for the two. Never thought I would get a chance to get a matching pair, but then they came up on TM about a week back. $36 each, but still worth it to get the genuine article I thought.

Thats pretty cool. I've made up some custom caps for mine out of alloy but haven't fitted them yet. Will do it once the paint etc is done, whenever that is.

Ta for that Marty, yep I'm pretty chuffed with how she has turned out. There is always something more to do, so they are never quite finished. That's half the attraction I guess.

Started pulling out my standard suspension arms on Sunday to fit my modified arms and dropped stub axles and discovered that my brake master cylinder has a slow leak. Stuffed the paintwork on my booster. Bugger !

Took my master cylinder along to Sterling's to see if they had a set of new seals for me. The bad news is that the bore is worn so the cylinder needs a resleeve.

I cheered myself up by fitting my dropped stub axles and adjustable upper arms tonight. I couldn't get a decent pic as my shed is a bit narrow, but the pics below should give you an idea of the outcome if you compare the shed's ceiling line from rear to front. The other good news is that the dropped axles have narrowed the front track enough to fit 8 inch wide rims under the standard front guards .... bonus !

Can you wait a couple of weeks, I have a couple of master cylinders up in Auckland. round and rectangle types - freebie if you want it
There are so many people out there who will tell you that you can't. What you've got to do is turn around and say "watch me"

Good work, Gordon.
I like the idea of sieving the master cylinder (and wheel/clutch cylinders) as you do it once and then only ever have to fit a kit.
(for those that don't know- it's a stainless steel cylinder they put in, so NEVER RUSTS  ;D)
I replaced all the master/wheel cylinder rubbers in my 300E van and only took a few hours and cost me under $50.
For a long term purchase, definitely worth it.
cheers
Russell
