Pedal rubbers
« on: January 21, 2013, 07:55:11 AM »
Hi all,
I have ordered a new pair of rubbers from the UK for the brake and clutch pedals for my CF. I am told I will need them for a roadworthy.

However, I cannot find any reference to an accelerator pedal rubber.

Does anyone know, did the van originally have an accelerator pedal rubber?

If it did, presuming OEM cannnot be found, which other vehicle's pedal rubbers will fit?

Cheers, rubber

Anyone have a picture of the correct accelerator pedal rubber for refernce?

likewise, i've bought a brake pedal rubber from the uk but can't find a repro accelerator one.
May the force and lug nuts be with me.

I would say that you would not need one as if your foot slips off it would not be a safety issue or an emergency situation
If you like it do it, If you like it a lot do it a lot!

I agree.  Mine did not have a rubber on the accel. pedal.
If they want to give you a hard time you can always glue some sandpaper onto it for a non slip surface.  Or hit it with a grinder.  Or rivet a bit of chequerplate to it so it is a non slip surface.  Can also buy some universal pedal pads from Supercheap or Repco and use them.

Yes I think I may do this. I have to convince them to let me try a few on for size. Was hoping someone had already been through this.

No matter, I'll give it a go, and report back. Thanks for your replies.

Cheers, rubber

They weren't fitted with a rubber on the accelerator pedal, when my CF was new.
I glued some rubber on there after a cop hassled me about it once, but it was dangerous, so I
removed it immediately. Never had any rego. problems with this either.

A Bedford SWB was the ONLY vehicle I ever wanted to own. Purchased when I was 21 years old, I'm now 56. Yes, I'm one of the (very rare) original owners.
