Been a very busy few weekends on the new baby, all door rubbers are now in and the sound proofing is all but done (man that is a job and a half) seats bases have been cut down painted and bolted in and just finished mounting the new Subaru bucket seats - very comfy indeed!

Mezz, have you used new door rubbers or were your originals still OK ?

Thanks Mezz. I've heard that the Rare Spares ones are supplied as lengths of various profiles that you need to put together yourself. is that correct ?

I'm also keen to find out if they were able to supply the outer window weather strips for the front doors. Cheers Gordon

Hi Gordon,
I have done the same as Mezz with the Rare Spares kit and yes you have to form and fit yourself. Rare Spares suggested to glue seals to frame but far better off fitting clips even though takes forever and you finger tips are sore for a week after but definately worth it.

For the outer door belt look in my gallery in the spares album and I have photo of belt and part number that was sourced by Rare Parts in Welshpool Perth WA and they fit very well.

Hope this helps.

Truck  :)

Hi Truck
Thanks for this extra info. I've just taken a look see at the picture of the outer door belt in your gallery and noted the part number. Have you got a close up picture of the belt fitted on the door ? I'm keen to see how it sits compared to the originals.
Cheers Gordon

The replacement outer door belt rubber doesn't have flocking (the fuzzy stuff) on the glass side, unfortunately.
