Mate..  cheers for the pics...  that looks bloody awesome.

I think that may be the better option...  i might even be able to buy a VN SS donor car complete...  then sell the soarer complete.

In saying that...  that 304 seems to be sitting much higher than my 253 currently is...  from memory the rocker covers atm are below the floor pan.



Is midmount really an option?  or you just having a laugh?

Surely no harder than making an appropriate crossmember to mount the engine and one for the gearbox, shortening the tailshaft, and cutting a hole in the floor to suit, plus making an engine cover/bed to fit.
The wiring and so on are issues that're present regardless of mid or front mount

Then theres the engineering side, and the pleasure of having lighter steering..

And you also have less issues fitting a power steering rack when you don't have the engine up front to consider.
