I dont think you will have heat problems with a reduction starter they are way smaller than the original & have plenty off clearance around the extractors I dont have the part No at hand I just went to my local auto electrition & got one to suit a VH commodor off the shelf Works perfect

you'll never go back to an origuinal starter once youve used the high tourque ones, and you can get em out without having to pull the extractors off..

sure does...put a starter in a customers HQ this week..tossed the old bulky one

which i had to take the exhaust off to get out..new one was way less bulky..

Well guys & girls finally got the new engine going purs like a kitten Had a bit of trouble at first was cranking it over with the plugs out to get the oil pressure up but nothing happening so had to pull the oil pump off [thank god it's on the outside & not in the sump] done the old vassoline in the pump trick & filled the oil filter up with oil & wallar oil pressure onc that was up it started first hit Runs beautiful As you can see in the photos I pinched the wifes puddin dish to make up a new air cleaner
