Hi George go back to page 7 photo 21 That's the fridge cupboard with Dynamat on the outside wall Zoom in & you will see vents at the top & a small fan in the bottom shelf that drawers air from under the drawer These small fridges dont make all that much heat but need a vent to outside so Idont know how you'l get around that for a show van but there's always a way Cheers Reid

Could you perhaps run the vent hose so it exits through the floor of the van instead of the side? You won't see it then.

The problem is hot air rises You would have to box it all in & have a large fan to force the hot air down Cheers Reid

If you used your install as an example you could reverse the setup perhaps. A small intake at the top of the unit to draw air in and at the bottom an in-line centfigugal fan to draw the air out. Warm air rises sure but if the air isn't all that hot as you say it shouldn't take much effort to draw it down and out instead. You could even vent it into the van. It's not like air that comes off an engine full of fumes etc.

Hi Guys, appreciate the advice, you hit the mark on one thing, because mine is a show van, I dont want the louvard vent on the outside of body. whats your opininon on this idea. I was thinking of having a vent in the floor behind fridge in cabinet, then to give the van that show look putting in a fake brake cooling vent, that is routed to the enclosure behind the fridge, that way Cool air would be forced in and out through the floor vent. My big Q. here though is in wet weather, would water get forced into the enclosure, how do these vents work ?

If it's only for ventilation why not draw the air from inside the van? Cold air intake for the engine sure but is it really necessary just to provide a little airflow for the back of a fridge? Bit overkill I think.

Air from inside the van will probably be fine, it's more if you're spending extended time in the van, you want the vents to keep the air inside fresh when all windows are up.

I'd be bringing the air in through the floor. you'd want 2 holes, one for air in, and one for air out. have a baffle on the bottom so no water/dirt/bugs are scooped up as you travel, and have the entry air and exit air holes facing toward the rear of the van for the same water/bug/dirt reasons.
you have one pipe basically the thickness of the floor or maybe 10mm higher than the floor level, this is not important in terms of thickness as it's the air in.
For the exit air, you want a pipe running from below the floor up toward the top of the cavity behind the fridge. You'll want a computer fan or something similar that'll flow a decent amount of air without requiring alot of energy.

By using the setup this way, the air is drawn in by the flow of the exit fan, it will distribute throughout the cavity however it wishes as it is so low and the suction is drawn from such a high point in relation to the entry.
The hot air will be drawn out as it will have risen to the top.

With the baffle on the underside of the floor of the van, you'd really want the two holes/pipes side by side, it'll be easier to make the baffles, you'll want probably 100mm of depth in the baffle to prevent anything being drawn in, and you'll want the two pipes to be seperated so the hot air isn't drawn back into the inlet.

I could draw something up for you, but im sure you can figure it out..
