Hey Reid

How have you got the battery system set up?

Are you running dual batteries?

Are you charging both from the altenator?

If the charger is an older type it may over charge your batteries.

Have a look at These

The charger should be at least 10% of the Ahr of your combined batteries

hey resto, i have a ctek charger connected for my landcruiser, and swear by them, they are light weight, fit in the palm of your hand, and never overcharge you batteries, about $130, for the one i got, but will be getting a second one for van, and one for the bobcat, when the cat one needs to be replaced. They are halve the price of other chargers, there is no weight in them, all circuit boards. I have mine mounted to the wall beside the cruiser, when i park it i just connect up and forget.

Reid

I recently puchased a Haigh MCU Battery Charger - 12V (3600mA) and it works a treat, charged my Campers battery and it has been staring so much easier ever since.

So much so that I charged every battery I had :D

But wouldnt you know it I went back to Auto Barn where I bought it from and it was on sale $30 cheaper.

I'm currently putting together a camper trailer and I have 3x30 Ahr deep cycle batteries that I intend to run stuff off, led lights, water pump, sterio etc, I like the MCU Battery Charger - 12V (7000mA)
for this as it can also be used as a 5 amp power supply and it's $50 cheaper at the moment .

The only draw back I see at the moment is that when you turn them on the come up in a default (not doing anything) mode and you have to select what mode you want to use, but that is just a matter of pressing a button.

Also worth noting the lower Amperage rating of the charger, the slower it is to recharge the battery to a float condition, my Camper battery was pretty flat and took over 16 hours to fully charge.
