URGENT - WANTED SWB VAN
« on: August 21, 2012, 01:33:11 PM »
looking for a SWB van that is finished and ready to drive...
 - Prefer a V8,
 - Don't care about color,
 - must be neat and tidy as it will be used as a PROMO VEHICLE for a BAR and GRILL.
 - I'm in Sydney but can arrange an inspection and transportation from anywhere in Aust
 - Willing to pay cash for the right van at the right price (under $10k)

I dont have the time or know how to rebuild one and its needed before summers.

I can be contacted on 0412654321

or email pics to bedfordwanted@gmail.com

Thanks heaps
Theo

Yeah your right Ben, it can work out much cheaper to buy than build, the best part is he say's it's RUST FREE.  that is not easy to find and it was built as a race tow car for the 80's. all the bugs would be ironed out by now, 383 chev and a 4 speed auto. Take an EDDIE THE EXPERT with you and if it's as good as it sounds.....

G'day

Getting a CFS with a 383 registered in NSW will probably be very difficult as the motor is outside the guidlines.

You will be best to check it out. I have been caught buying a CF interstate and not be able to get it registered.

If you are going to buy a V8 van make sure it is engineered for all modifications by an NSW RTA approved Engineer.
Some vans are registered with the V8 but don't have an engineering report so you can be put off the road if there are other modifications(which there usually will be).
If you buy a van from interstate then you will have to find an Engineer who will approve the modifications. Engineers prefer to see a vehicle while it is being built. I have 2 CFs that I have bought interstate and have not been able to get Engineered.

In years gone by, we were able to get away with unapproved modifications, but it is getting harder.
The problem I have is that most of my stories end with... and that is why I am not allowed to go back there!
