Hey Skippy l noticed in your photo, that we have different style universal steering joints.

My van was made in 1970 , uni joint is 36 spline at both ends. It bolts to the shaft  that connects it to the steering rack and

likewise at top.  The only Torana part used was the inner cross section part that holds the uni joint togethor.  Only difference l

to the original was that it came with a grease nipple. Maybe the Torana part can only be used on early models ????

Even if thats the case i believe it can still be repaired..........
                                                                                       Cheers  Frank

Bedfords come with 2 different uni's, one like the one pictured and the other a more bulky squared type
There are so many people out there who will tell you that you can't. What you've got to do is turn around and say "watch me"

I had the same problem with mine, I finally got a new universal from a company in the US called Flaming River cost about $65 for memory plus shipping.
Their products are top quality and a perfect fit.

The centre cube looking part of the uni joint was pressed out, and replaced with a cross looking Torana uni joint part.

I hope this makes sense, Cheers Frank

Bursons are just as bad, the other day they quoted me a $124 for a rear wheel cylinder. After getting my head around what he said, I staggered out the door and up the road to Repco. Where i paid a mere $22.37 each
make it reliable, or smash it with a big hammer
