Matty,
You can fit a 304/308 as long as it complies. You will have to have an engineers cert (approx$1200).
Also you need the following:
Two speed wipers
Collapsible steering column
Depending on engine, unleaded fuel filler pipe and anti pollution gear
Windscreen demister to be fitted

More detail info:
http://www.rta.nsw.gov.au/registration/downloads/vsi/vsi_06_-_guidelines_for_light_vehicle_modifications_nov_2007.pdf

Engineers:
http://www.rta.nsw.gov.au/registration/downloads/bulletin_1_v13_29_03_12.pdf

hope this is of some help

Mike

The bedford has a collapsible steering column.
A collapsible column is defined as having a knuckle/joint which will sheer on impact. The bedford has one between steering column and steering rack, As well as the rubber joint

A non collapsible column would be one where the column goes directly to the steering box (usually pre 60's)

Also if you register the van as a CF 350 instead of a CF 230 the engine size allowed would be greater.
The 350 models are usually lwb vans but some swb base vans did come out as 350 models, they have a greater tare weight

There are so many people out there who will tell you that you can't. What you've got to do is turn around and say "watch me"

Information Sheet vsi15 is no longer on the list of available documents:
http://www.rta.nsw.gov.au/registration/downloads/vsi/vsi_dl1.html?rlid=infosheets

bulletin_1_v13_29_03_12.pdf is no longer available either.

Finding an Engineer is a task.
The problem I have is that most of my stories end with... and that is why I am not allowed to go back there!

Thanks for the advice, keeping the 202 and spending the money on panel and paint is a good idea, i am kean to fit rear seats for the kids. I think i can get it approved through the 4WD places ?.

The first cop that pulled you over.

When fitting extra seats, it's easiest to get rear seats from a late model van or similar. Make sure you get ALL mounting plates/assemblies.
Install it the same way as in the original donor vehicle. The extra seating capacity will be a lot more likely to be approved.

Arn't you meant to have a opening window with the extra seats?
make it reliable, or smash it with a big hammer
