SUBS NOT WORKING HELP

so today i installed my two pioneer subs running off a 500 watt amp i know 500 is low but that the subs nominal power so should be fine they work great but if i turn it up the  amp goes into protect mode if i turn it down they work

Sounds like your system might be clipping - cutting off because it can not supply enough power to the speakers.

Wahat size are the subs, are they wire in series or parrallel?

Are they 4 or 8 ohm speakers? what is there power rating.

Could be that they are drawing to much current for the amp.

Could be your power cables to the amp are to light, and not supplying enough power to the amps.

they always say your better off to have too much amp power over too much speaker power.

How did you connect your amp to your head unit? Does the head unit have amp pre-outs or did you just connect the ams up to a couple of the speaker outputs?

If you connected it up to the speaker outputs on the head unit you are probably overdriving the amp.

there pioneer champion series 1400watt peak per sub on 4 ohm i think running off a 600 watt peak amp 300 too eatch sub i am getting a new amp but was just annoyed at not being able too turn it up

have you got the amp setup to run as mono or stereo? you'll find it will put more power out to each speaker setup as mono than it will as Left/Right channels
