Front & rear wheel stud patterns are different
« on: February 07, 2012, 05:44:02 PM »

I bought my 78 SWB a while back with front holden disc brakes & a borg warner diff already moded.
My issue is i have a holden 5 stud pattern on my front wheels & a ford 5 stud pattern on my rear wheels.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how i could resolve this issue (within economic reason) so i have the same stud pattern all round & only have to carry one spare tyre? My presence is to stick with ford ones as the mags i like/use are a ford pattern & easy to come by.
Any advice would be much appreciated.

Cheers
Joe

are you allowed slotted mags there? ford and holden (hq-hz) are only half a hole out from each other.

Other option is to redrill front or back disc/axle
There are so many people out there who will tell you that you can't. What you've got to do is turn around and say "watch me"

Im with Busy...cheapest option..i reckon ..getting back drum redrilled to hq...

you have a good running gear set up..so no need to change diffs...

I believe you can buy the HQ discs with ford stud patterns, that would be easier than redrilling the diff.

Some machining of the discs may be required as per the normal disc conversion, to allow for the bedford outer bearing though.

HOPPER STOPPERS
do that upgrade
new hq blank disks drilled to suit ford
cost about $300 with disks

Hq and ford discs are the same product, just different holes

have you thought of either slotting your spare or re drilling inbetween the holes on your spare i would think it would be the cheapest way. i had an intercepter wheel like this once. worked well.
