Hi Snow,

Glad to help out and good to see the towing bar worked out OK.

Look forward to catching up at some stage.

Cheers,
Garry

Hi there all. Just to let you know that I did get ball joints.  I got them from George Stock and Co. I found them on line and costs were $34.13 for top, $36.75 for bottom, and $22.84 for rod ends.(all plus gst). I wasn't keen to pay the $496 for the arm bushes though!  Good service, ordered one day and they arrived the next. Guess what I will be doing this weekend.

Could you post the part numbers and manufacturers please? Even the website you found would be good. I'm toying with pulling out my front end (keep it clean!) and giving that a good going over once I have everything fitted and it would be handy to have the replacement parts on hand. Thanks.

I  thought it was cheap too! That's why I got all four ball joints rather than just replacing the one that they failed the WOF on. I'll post the part numbers after the weekend, after I have fitted them and are sure they have supplied the right ones. Turns out this company imports these parts and are the supplier to Repco.

There are so many people out there who will tell you that you can't. What you've got to do is turn around and say "watch me"

What do you know! They did send the wrong size lower ball joint.

OK - for those that want to know - the part numbers for ball joints -
Top-BJ24,
Lower- Early vans (approx 41mm dia) BJ268,
         - Late vans (approx43mm dia) BJ148
Tie Rod ends - TE476R

These were from George Stock and Co.

I've now got all the new parts fitted and with a few more jobs to do will soon be set for the summer holiday!

I got to repair my ball joints on my 1976 CF
the mechanic at MIDAS said they Werner available anymore..
Had me worried...

What is early model and what is late model?

I want to be sure to order the right parts.

Thanks

Ian
