stub axles for beddy
« on: October 17, 2011, 02:04:53 PM »
contacted stubtech and there making 2" drop for beddys

Hi Keith,
Over the years we fitted many Bedford with our 2" drop axles originally
made for HQ's.  Our axles cost $775.00 a pair including GST and engineering
paperwork. If you supply your postcode we can quote on the postage charges
as well.   You will need to ring me so that I can explain what is needed to
make a successful swap into the Bedford,  I can be contacted on 03 54723868
during business hours.
Regards
Rod

id like to here what he has to say both sets off lowered stub axles Iv seen have had to have major surgery to the front end to counter camber problems.

top wishbone had to be shifted out to compensate  for camber alignment.

i wouldnt be concerned if its not dead spot on.. i can bet you 99% of bedfords on the road dont have the camber perfect considering a lot of them still running orig front springs being 30+ years old and sagged.

cheers

One of my beddys had the bottom control arms redrilled and moved.

.it was because it had a very different Holden disc brake set up on it...it wasnt HQ

when i re assembled it..i put it on the wrong set of holes...looked funny as...!!  wheels were at a crazt wierd angle!!

apart again..n back in the original holes

i rang and left a message..no answer yet..

9am perth time
rod phoned me back.... didnt know it was rod hatfield..
one his own now..

he was not happy i was from the bedford club as they wasted his time last year,
getting info on stubs and shipping etc,and no one got back to him????

i read the post from november last year....
what happened....why didnt anyone order a set..
he was willing to do a set of 6..

what in volved is redrilling the top controll arm to 15deg...to take hq top ball joint..
and redrilling the stubaxles to take the bedford sreering arm..as the holes are different.

hes willing to do a set for me for $775 plus $45 postage to w.a..

So for $775 is it modified ready to go? Control arms, what just need to change the angle of the upper ball joint? Was that included in the price? I'm interested but it's very pricey if it still needs modifying

NO...not ready to go..like you said very pricey
he will send a template of where to drill the steering arms
and a template of where to cut the top controll arms to weld in a new piece to take hq ball joints..
i,m not going to bother..
